After receiving considerable backlash,Uncategorized Archives Cam Newton has said he's sorry for the sexist comment he made to a female reporter.

On Wednesday, he responded to a question from reporter Jourdan Rodrigue by saying, "It's funny to hear a female talk about routes like — it's funny." Then on Thursday night, he tweeted out a video apologizing for his "extremely degrading and disrespectful" word choice toward women.

Newton added, "If you are a person who took offense to what I said, I sincerely apologize to you... I'm a father to two beautiful daughters and at their age I try to instill in them to do or be anything they want to be."

It may be too little, too late though. His remarks have already cost him a major endorsement deal with Dannon.

The company said in a statement to ESPN, ‘'We are shocked and disheartened at the behavior and comments of Cam Newton towards Jourdan Rodrigue, which we perceive as sexist and disparaging to all women. It is entirely inconsistent with our commitment to fostering equality and inclusion in every workplace. It's simply not OK to belittle anyone based on gender. We have shared our concerns with Cam and will no longer work with him.''

Newton claims to have learned his lesson and is trying to use his mistake for something positive, "To the young people who see this, I hope you learn something from this as well. Don't be like me, be better than me."
